Cash Cows – Round 10

A Huge shout out to Scrads who has filled in for me over the last month or 2. He has done an outstanding job! Beers all round!

What a mixed bag we received this week with our cows! We had a few missing in Balic and Butler. We had some continue to have very underwhelming runs in McCluggage, Hampton (albeit thru injury) and Parsons. Then we had the others that just want to get fat! Looking at you Myers, Greenwood, Barrett and the fattest of them all… Nic Newman! Time to see what the breakevens tell us for Round 10 across all the formats.

There is a clear stand out this week in AFL Fantasy. Looking at the above table tells us that if you are not already on Hugh Greenwood, then you should make plans to be. There is daylight between him and second. Throw in the fact that number 2 is not playing seniors currently either. He gets an A on 2 accounts! Firstly for the great debut but more importantly, for the stupid hair. When kids start getting to my age they will wish they showed more respect to the stylings hahaha! Anyways, jump on Hugh in AFL Fantasy and you too can enjoy that hair do.

A move into the midfield has seen Sonny go nuts the last 3 weeks. His BE’s however are now starting to level out a little so he really is only an option in AFL Fantasy from this week. There are a couple of things with Walters. His bye round is perfect to maximise the $$$ and pts you can receive. AFL Fantasy have 3 trades a week through the bye rounds this year so a sideways here and there will not hurt your team progression like years gone by. The last thing is you can combine cash generation with banking points. While Walters plays midfield, he will continue to score well!

I think guys like Myers and Dan Lloyd will continue to make some decent cash. Both appear to have some good job security which is the most important thing when the byes are here. It looks like a good week to make sure you tidy up your benches this week. Guys like Balic will need to be moved on to maximise on field points through the byes. Yep, the byes are only 1 week away!

If I wasn’t confident or comfortable bringing in guys who have only played 1 game like Greenwood or Selwood, then I think Daniel Lloyd would interest me the most for Supercoach. Whilst he hasn’t set the world on fire scoring wise, he has done enough to hold his spot for the next couple of weeks. I would only look at him however if the $$$ freed up allowed me to complete a decent upgrade either this week or in the upcoming future. All that said, I think Lloyd is one that could be missed.

This kid is one to keep an eye on. Shai Bolton nearly doubled his DT score in SC this week. This week is also the DreamTime game so I expect Bolton to play. One more decent performance could see he appear very quickly on our SC radars! Sneaky eye locked!

Scott Selwood and Hugh Greenwood are the obvious guys here. Would I recommend jumping on either or both a week before they see the bubble. It really does depend on your team. I think there is more risk involved with Scooter due to his history.

David Myers was the main man last week to downgrade to. This week his breakeven is actually better than last week in DreamTeam. This means one thing. If you missed him last week, then he is definitely worth a look this week. His job security is probably the best of all the cows. On top of that he is still building his match fitness. He had 68% TOG last week. If that wasn’t enough, then the 83 he scored last weekend will stay in his 3 round average for another 2 price rises. Hopefully he can back it up this week!

Although Scooter Selwood has decent history across all the formats, it is probably in DreamTeam where I am most interested in jumping on him. There is still another week until he is on the bubble (same as Greenwood). I don’t really see any issues however jumping early on either. An awesome m9 option for the remainder of the 2017 season. His price tag is very hard to ignore! As stated previously, maybe it is his injury history that will see me what one more week before jumping on him!

Best of the Rest for DreamTeam

The usual suspects appear once again. James Stewart needs to be looked at especially if you are looking to move on a Eddy sideways. He has performed his role very well in his first 2 games for the Bombers. The only worrying thing might be Bellchambers kicked a bag in the magoos and should place Stewart under some selection pressure.

Consider Moving

It is really tough this week to move on any cows who are playing games. Don’t forget the byes are only a week away! The guy at the top of the list would be Curtly Hampton, who may also be injured. The performance of Hugh Greenwood and the improvement in fitness of Brad Crouch could also see Hampton pushed out of the centre square. His teammate Andy Otten could also come under a little scrutiny at our selection tables this week. Both of these guys have served their purpose and should now be looked at to be moved on. In SuperCoach the cows haven’t really fired and generated the cash I was hoping. Guys like Fisher if culled might only net you $70,000. You would need 3 of these to go get a decent premium. This will mean you might have to get a little creative moving forward. Harley Balic is on indefinite leave from Fremantle. I am a little hesitant to move him on this week myself due to his very friendly BE.

Be Patient

With all cows! But the main ones this week are McCluggage, Barrett, Vickers-Wliis, Tom Stewart, Powell-Pepper. Pretty much any cow who is getting named and has a manageable breakeven they should remain in your team. With one week till byes, it is very important to hold playing cows.

Hey Bucks! Time to Unleash the Schazzzz

The time has come to unleash this man! Matt Scharenberg has been the emerg for the last couple of weeks. James Aish is now injured so there is a spot there for the taking. Just pick the Schazzz Bucks. The end!
