Cash Cows – Round 18

Last week we saw some very impressive Cows continue their great runs! Guys like Witherden, Ryan and Greenwood continue to impress us. Scharenberg and Ainsworth also showed their wares. The season is definitely entering the final sprint home across all the formats. Time to find out whether any of this week’s cows are worth considering.

Lewis Young

Debuts don’t come any better than the one that Lewis Young played on the weekend. He looked as composed as a 200 gamer would look. He was originally recruited as a marking forward but has been turned into an intercept marking defender, very similar to Lever from the Crows. 21 touches along with 9 marks means that he should hold his spot in the Dogs line up even with a returning Easton Wood this week. Also put some cream on the performance with a contender for mark of the week!

Ivan Soldo

The Tigers are definitely trying to find some more marking options up forward, which means that big Ivan could very well find himself getting another 2 or 3 games until a Ben Griffiths gets some match fitness in the VFL. This means that he becomes a very interesting bench option, especially in AFL Fantasy for the remaining 6 rounds.

Jay Kennedy-Harris

In what seemed to take years, JKH finally broke back into the Melbourne FC senior team last weekend. He did ok when he did get his chance but was it enough to hold his spot from now on? I really don’t know. Dees lost and have plenty out currently so it might be touch and go moving forward. One to monitor however especially in AFL Fantasy.

Limited Trade Formats

This is not the week to trade in any Cows in the limited trade formats. Guys like Simpson and Guthrie are on the bubble but have job security issues. Nyhuis looked ok again and could be an option but only if it means you can use the $$$ to land a very decent premium. I just don’t like any options this week for SuperCoach and DreamTeam so my suggestion is to hold!

On the Horizon

Not much here unfortunately. Shai Bolton snagged 5 goals for the Tigers and should be close to a return to the senior team. Will Brodie and Jordan Dawson both continue to rack up the possies in the NEAFL. Willsmore also had a day out for Box Hill with a very handy 35 and 2 goals. Partington continues  to bring his own ball to his WAFL games. I have no idea what this kid can do extra to get a debut! Truth be told however, there isn’t that much coming through!

There it is! Not heaps to write about this week as seems to always be the way with the season fading into the sunset! Make sure you give us a like on the facebook page by clicking here or a follow on twitter by clicking here. All the best for the week ahead!
